Sophia finally gets what it was all about

So today Sophia got to meet Stella, our baby, her sister. She was very well behaved and marvelled at the tiny hands and feet and eyes and mouth and all. We got 3 inches of snow last night so the drive in was interesting; Seattle drivers like to stop on hills when it's snowy and icy, and then when they get stuck they just sit in their car on the cel phone, don't push it out of the way, no one will hit you, you're just in the traffic lane, it's ok. Coming up Lake City Way there were a bunch of 5 cars all stopped all over the road, people just standing around, no one thought to pull over or out of the way, so the traffic had to alternate using the one usable lane left out of 5. smart. it was a beautiful sunrise, though; snow everywhere and clear skies. nice. Thanks to Danielle for the mittens for Sophia, and the cupcakes, and for Dani and Karen for stopping by. Maia got a little more rest today, the pain has mostly abated, and she's not hooked up to a single tube, line, monitor, or tether of any kind. yay. here's hoping the other half of the family comes home tomorrow, if not then Saturday.
