5th birthday party
Happy birthday Sophia!!
(here are some photos from the kids' party)
with her white-cake and strawberry frosting with fanned strawberries cupcakes. she was incredibly specific this year about the cake.
We played a dress-up game with teams. one person from each team had to run up to the basket of dress-up items and put on 3 things and pose for a picture before running back and tagging the next person.
Sophia opted out so Jeff went in her place.
Later we played another team race game - run with a cup of water, climb up the slide and go down the slide, run around the cone and back to your team and tag the next person. Amazing how careful they all were!
One of Sophia's most well-adored gifts - the Snow White outfit complete with plastic high-heeled shoes. I love that she is in touch with her girly side, but I wish it wasn't so mass marketed or branded.

happy birthday, sophia! i have those tutus for your girlies too...they are coming, i promise :). those are some great ideas for games, maia! and i like jeff's new look. i also agree w/ you on the mass marketed items. it has been very difficult to keep that to a minimum (or non-existent), but with gifts what can you do?
