the day's report 080206

We cleaned the living room in the early morning and started putting away the ammassment of clean clothes and then we got out of the house to go meet danielle for coffee. At Cupcake Royale sophia was quite the angel - working hard at sharing a pile of fliers with us and flirting with the other customers. Then we went to the Ballard fountain/skate bowl where Sophia ran around and around saying Hi to the birds and running through the fountains. After we got her changed into dry clothes we went back and watched the skateboarders, then we went to buy some new shoes, and she was super patient at the mall.

the summary from today's babysitting with grandma: LONG nap (I put her down around 2:45, she slept until 4:30), and good mood - played with new shoes putting them in and out of box, dragged the tethered helium balloon around and around, wanted shoes ON and then went out of deck and played, put socks in and out of grandma's purse, and walked around with the vcr remote up to her ear "talking" on her phone (apparently at one point putting the phone to the cat's ear so that she could also talk on the phone). Ate some of grandma and grandpa's spaghetti too.
what a wonderful kid.

so I admit that yesterday I thought she was a difficult and cranky child, but I think if I had had her diaper rash I would have been that difficult and cranky too.

Sheesh - I just went it to check on her and she wasn't quite asleep, so now she's crying again. what a dumbass I am.
